Temazepam
3-Hydroxylation of diazepam produces temazepam, a Schedule IV benzodiazepine and pharmacologically active metabolite of diazepam. Laboratory testing applications include drugs of abuse screening, pain management compliance monitoring, forensic toxicology investigations, postmortem toxicology, driving under the influence of drugs (DUID) cases, and clinical toxicology assessments, where temazepam detection may indicate direct use or metabolism from diazepam administration. UTAK’s Benzodiazepines Plus, DAU, and SAMHSA CONFIRM panels contain temazepam in lyophilized urine, whole blood, and oral fluid matrices at multiple concentration levels, supporting both immunoassay screening and confirmation methods. Stock and custom QC solutions can incorporate related benzodiazepines such as diazepam, nordiazepam, oxazepam, alprazolam, clonazepam, lorazepam, and other commonly monitored sedative-hypnotics to support comprehensive benzodiazepine and drugs of abuse QC panels.
