You Have Received Your Sample! Now What?

As part of our custom product manufacturing process, UTAK offers matrix testing to support interference screening (MTX-APPROVAL) prior to spiking analytes or beginning final packaging. This helps identify anything already present in the sample that could affect your test results. This is especially important when your target analytes occur naturally in the body.

We’d like for you to test the baseline and to check for:

  • Possible interference with your test method
  • Analytes of interest that aren’t covered in our in-house ELISA screen
  • Existing levels of your target analytes already in the sample

Below you will find our recommended steps for testing the sample and completing the interference screening (MTX-APPROVAL) form.

Testing Procedure

  1. Allow the frozen matrix sample to thaw at room temperature with the cap on.
  2. Swirl gently for 3–4 minutes to ensure a homogeneous mixture.
  3. Swirl gently each time an aliquot is removed to maintain consistency.
  4. Test the matrix sample in the same manner as patient specimens, following the full instructions of your standard test method.
  5. Minimize the time the matrix sample remains at room temperature during handling to help preserve its integrity.

Approval Form Completion

  1. Indicate Accept or Reject based on whether the matrix meets your specifications.
  2. Sign and date the completed form and email it to approvals@utak.com.
Three laboratory glass flasks are displayed on a dark surface. From left to right: a clear flask with a capacity of 250 ml, a yellow liquid in a 125 ml flask labeled "PYREX Made in Germany," and a red liquid in the same size flask. The flasks are marked with measurement increments for precise volume reading. The background is softly blurred, focusing on the flasks.
