Last week the Control Freaks celebrated Control Freak week, a highly anticipated event that brought together all members of the team for five days of fun and camaraderie. The week kicked off with a scavenger hunt around the office and ended with our annual cornhole tournament.
Control Freak week was not only a time for friendly competition but also a time to express gratitude and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the Control Freaks. Our leadership team meticulously planned a series of engaging activities and surprises to make this week truly unforgettable.
Mid week we held our annual molecule hunt where we hid 10 molecules around the office. Continuing his winning streak Cory Stull, our Laboratory Support Specialist, found all 10 in record time.
The pinnacle of Control Freak week arrived with the much-awaited annual lunch and cornhole tournament. Teaming up in pairs the Control Freaks were determined to outshine their opponents and claim the coveted title. After three grueling rounds, it was Cory and our COO Kevin Kopp who emerged triumphant, their names forever etched in the bean bags of Control Freak history.
In celebrating our 50th anniversary, this Control Freak week held special significance. We were honored to have our founder, Judy Plutchak, grace us with her presence and join in the festivities. Judy and Larry Plutchak’s visionary mindset led to the establishment of UTAK in 1973, answering the critical need for reliable third-party Quality Control. Their groundbreaking initiative revolutionized the Quality Control market, providing laboratories with the tools to reduce risks and costs while ensuring accurate results.
Throughout the years, UTAK has continued to grow, expanding our product offerings and serving as a trusted partner in laboratory quality control. From Therapeutic Drug Monitoring to Vitamin QC and custom QC solutions, we have empowered laboratories to determine their own analytes and concentrations, further enhancing their precision and accuracy.
